Deleting your data

This page explains how to remove the information Lava Socials holds when you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram professional account to the Lava Socials client portal, and how to ask us to delete anything else we hold about you, including a LinkedIn Page we connected for you.

What we hold when you connect an account

• The name and ID of the Facebook Page you chose.
• An access token that lets us publish to that Page. We store it encrypted, and we never see or hold your Facebook password.
• For Instagram, the ID and username of the professional account linked to your Facebook Page.
• The posts we publish for you, and the performance figures we show you in the portal.

The quickest way: disconnect in the portal

1. Sign in at lavasocials.com/portal.
2. Open Social in the menu.
3. Press Disconnect next to Facebook. This covers Instagram too, because it connects through your Facebook Page.

We tell Facebook to withdraw our access, and we delete the access token and account details from our systems straight away. We can no longer post for you from that moment.

Removing our access from Facebook

You can also remove our access from Facebook itself. In Facebook, open Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Business integrations, and remove Lava Portal. This stops our access straight away. To have the details we hold deleted as well, email us as below.

Asking us to delete everything

Email contact@lavasocials.com from the address you use with us, with the subject "Data deletion request". Tell us your business name and which accounts it covers. We will delete your connected account data and the other personal information we hold within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.

The only things we keep are records the law requires us to keep, such as invoices, and only for as long as it requires.
